Concert Music

Here are my most personal creations. Music that lives by its own rules, as defined by both mind and heart.

À Procura (Searching) – A simple but poignant love story between two musical characters, the piano and the electronics. They meet, feel suspicious, discover, learn, fight, meander through loneliness… and finally realise that, all along, they fit together quite nicely.

A Psicanálise do Guitarrista Maldito (The Psychoanalysis of the Guitariste Maudit) –Part therapy, part self-discovery, this piece tells a story that walks along a path of different emotions instead of an actual plot. An uncontrolled improvisation followed that chain of feelings, and I scribbled it down during an intense spring week! The result is sometimes uncomfortable, sometimes wacky, sometimes gentle, and often dreamy.

Happy to announce the Euterpe Guitar Duo (link) have subjected themselves to this psychoanalysis for their upcoming record! (to be released in 2025).

In the meantime, here is my attempt at a demo, recording both guitars inside a wardrobe.

O Elemento Ausente (Missing Link) – One walks down a road. Years later they walk the same path, but new structures are in place. Does the memory feel incomplete?

Looking back at the past with newfound maturity, we reach new conclusions. But feelings and ideas from the past were just as real and complete, and perhaps no less valid.

In Missing Link, the same music is played twice. The woodwinds enter the stage in the middle of the piece, playing only during the second run. Filling gaps, darkening memories, brightening ideas…
